About
I started 20 years ago as a UX designer and software engineer hybrid at Apple. I worked across information architecture, UX and visual design, and I learned early how to translate between design, business and engineering.
That translation work led naturally to leading design projects of every size, and then to leading design as a Director of User Experience. Since then I've led startups and Fortune 500 companies through product, SaaS, feature and hardware launches, most recently across security, IoT and governance products at AWS.
Beyond product design
I'm also an installation artist. My work has been shown in museums around the United States, including the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco. I've written about the intersection of design and technology for NPR.com and the Huffington Post, and I co-wrote a McGraw-Hill book on using Adobe Creative Suite for mobile app development, adopted as secondary-school curriculum in 2013.
